Jamie Lee Curtis Interview You Again

In the upcoming film You Again (opening Sept. 24), Jamie Lee Curtis plays a woman whose high school rival resurfaces. While she had no arch enemies in real-life high school, she did struggle with a few image issues.
With more than 35 films under her belt, Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated actress Curtis, 51, has definitely been around the block in Hollywood, but in high school, she was just the dreaded "new girl."
"I showed up in my new uniform that I'd gotten at Bullocks Wilshire, and when I got to school I noticed that everybody had customized -- no one looked starched and new. I felt like everybody was looking at me going, 'Oh my God, there's the new girl!' I went to the lost and found," she tells iVillage exclusively. "When I walked out, I looked like I had been at that school for ten years."
Even with her new, er broken-in, wardrobe (and despite being the celebuspawn of movie stars Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis), she says she still didn't find easy popularity in high school. "I was not the cool girl. I idol-worshipped the cool girls. My girlfriends, we were the kind of good-girl-cheerleaders."
Watch our exclusive video interview to learn what advice Curtis handed down to her kids about high school, and hear about her new children's book.
